Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 • Produce accurate components according to established standards and customer specifications. 

• Effectively sets-up and operates tool room equipment including, Bridgeport, Proto-Trak, Millers, Lathes, Surface  Grinders etc. according to established procedures.  

• Performs accurate inspections of machined components to ensure conformance to standards and specifications  utilizing a variety of inspection equipment. 

• Properly operates equipment to produce quality production parts. 

• Maintains thorough and accurate records and updates changes in accordance with established shop standards. 

• Ensures on time deliveries within specified design parameters and tooling budgets. 

• Efficiently analyses and improves machining methods so as to cut costs and improve quality. 

• Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards. 

• Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies.  

• Use correct P.P.E. per JHAs and Job Description. Must wear protective footwear that complies with ASTM F2413  & F2412. 

• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea System. 

• Perform all other duties as assigned.  

Requirements:

  •  Able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
  • High School or Vocational Technical School Diploma preferred. State of Connecticut Machinist Journeyman  preferred or a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in manufacturing of die and fixture components. Knowledge of  Makino, Mikron, Kitamura 3XI or comparable CNC machines preferred. 
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and  maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to do basic math in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to  apply concepts of basic trigonometry and geometry. 
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 
  •  State of Connecticut Machinist Journeyman certificate preferred.

Weekend Robotic Automation Specialist

Description:

To effectively monitor and resolve production department automation issues. Establish and perform preventative and predictive maintenance to improve productivity throughout the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated equipment, PLC’s, Robots, and vision systems.
  • Adjust pick-up and program robot points and frames.
  • Monitor, adjust and install automation and tooling sensors.
  • Monitor equipment and automated cell performance and react to underperformance.
  • Perform failure analysis on equipment to establish preventative and predictive maintenance in compliance with Quality Systems.
  • Review repair and maintenance data in the (CMS) Computer Maintenance System.
  • Document, create and review maintenance and repair instructions.
  • Monitor, update and meet department maintenance goals.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe working environment by following 6S standards.
  • Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies.
  • Use correct P.P.E. per JHA’s and Job Description; required to wear safety shoes with the standard F2412 and F2413 rating. Individuals trained in NFPA 70E Arc Flash are required to wear electrical hazard safety shoes with the F2412EH and F2413EH rating.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including Idea System.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Have knowledge of computers, electronics, test equipment and mechanics.
  • Electrical background and Arc Flash Trained.
  • Able to work Saturday and/or Sunday.
  • High School or Technical School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret ladder diagrams, schematics, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, technical instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

  • Ensure product ID and traceability is maintained by accurately filling out required paperwork (Followers, Inspection Ticket, etc.).
  • Accurately enter labor hours in MES; monitor personal time and attendance weekly.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
  • Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies.
  • Use correct P.P.E. per JHAs and Job Description; when safety shoes are required (Finishing), they must be rated F2412 and F2413.

Press Operator 2nd shift

Description:

To effectively operate a variety of power presses and associated equipment to manufacture metal components according to established standards and customer specifications, and complete in-process inspection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates presses per M.O.I.’s and maintains accurate production records. Must see supervisor for additional assignments daily; operates multiple machines whenever possible
  • Perform daily P.M. checklist prior to press start-up daily; Verify that all safety devices are activated and all guards are in place prior to running press.
  • Follows established strip start procedures to minimize risk of damage to dies; ensure strips are positioned properly prior to cycling press. 
  • Accurately inspects parts at pre-determined intervals for visual and dimensional requirements following procedures established by Quality Assurance and/or Engineering.
  • Properly package and label product containers per procedures.
  • Effectively follow procedures to ensure timely movement of parts within the facility.
  • Properly disposes of scrap in designated containers.
  • Ensure product ID and traceability is maintained by accurately filling out required paperwork (Followers, Inspection Ticket, etc.).
  • Accurately enter labor hours in MES; monitor personal time and attendance weekly.
  • Support team activities.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
  • Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies. 
  • Use correct P.P.E. per JHAs and Job Description. Must wear protective footwear that complies with ASTM F2413 & F2412.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea system.

Requirements:

  • Able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
  • High School or Technical School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.  Six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
