Production Technician

Hobson & Motzer Inc., a leading manufacturer of high precision/high volume metal parts and assemblies, is currently seeking an experienced Production Technician to join our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Wallingford.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Effectively perform start of shift and daily maintenance procedures on production equipment (including laser welders).
  • Troubleshoot and repair fixture, tooling, automation and production problems as they are encountered. 
  • Effectively set-up and tear-down tools and fixtures in accordance to established procedures.
  • Ensures all set-ups are properly maintained to ensure the safety of the operators and the efficient operation of the equipment. 
  • Reset production equipment and robots if malfunctions occur. Take necessary steps for their prevention. 
  • Analyze Problem Reports and confer with key personnel to make appropriate machine adjustments. 
  • Maintains accurate setup and production records per company standards.
  • Fabrication and troubleshooting of tools as needed. 
  • Work with key personnel to ensure all dimensions, processes and automation are in conformance.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe working environment by following 6S standards.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including Idea System. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School or Technical School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; minimum of five years of related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in fabrication and troubleshooting of tooling as well as with laser welding production equipment is highly preferred. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, part drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
