CASEMENT

Application: Electronics

Problem: An extremely complex and tight-tolerance piece with 16 secondary operations in prototype design, this part was ready for production-but the customer couldn't find manufacturers willing to take on this "mission impossible" part.

Solution: After developing a process layout, we determined that we could produce a piece that would meet specifications.

We created a progressive die to make the part, as well as an optical fixture to measure it.

Two pairs of tabs, formed on top of one another, had to maintain an alignment within .001" and facing tabs had to maintain a distance of +/- .002".

Mission accomplished.
