Precision Tooling

Quality precision tooling is an integral part of our stamping process.

Hobson & Motzer designs and builds progressive dies to hold punch and die clearances as close as .0002” per side for thin materials. We design as much work into our dies as possible to minimize or eliminate secondary operations.

On-site equipment and capabilities

Our facility includes a full-service 50-person tool room, where we build and maintain all of our own production and prototype dies. Hobson & Motzer is able to control the entire die construction and maintenance processes utilizing state-of-the-art equipment tools including high speed machining.

Database inventory of critical replacement parts

Detailed tool component drawings are combined with exhaustive records to create an extensive tool spare parts inventory. This helps eliminate project downtime and delivery delays, and is part of Hobson & Motzer’s dedication to lean manufacturing.
